Prayer for our Pope Francis*
God, faithful and rich in mercy,
Guide and shepherd of all mankind, graciously support your servant Pope Francis, whom you have chosen as shepherd of your Church. Grant him the grace to serve, by word and example, those whom your Providence has entrusted to him.
May your Holy Spirit, which once enabled Simon Peter to recognize Jesus of Nazareth as your eternal and beloved Son, always assist him.
May this same Spirit, we pray to you, Lord, be given to us in fullness to open our hearts, to take us out of ourselves, to leave the comfort of our certainties and free us from our fears that hold us captive.
Following in the footsteps of Jesus, your Son, grant that we may live as missionary disciples and builders of peace and reconciliation. May we be ready to reach out to others and give our lives for your glory and the good of all our brothers and sisters.
Mary, Mother of the Church and Queen of the Apostles, may our beloved Pope always find courage and consolation under your gaze of tenderness and mercy.
AMEN

For all people of goodwill,
a day of fasting and prayer
for peace in the Holy Land

"Let the weapons fall silent, let us listen to the cry for peace of the poor, [...] of the children."
In 1982, Saint John Paul II visited Fatima and prayed to God that the world would be saved from a world war. He wrote a very specific litany to God, asking Him and Our Lady of Fatima to save the world.
Immaculate Heart, help us to overcome the threat of evil, which takes root so easily in the hearts of men today and whose immeasurable effects already weigh on our time and give the impression of closing the way to the future!
Deliver us from hunger and war!
Deliver us from nuclear war, from incalculable self-destruction, and from all kinds of war!
Sins against human life
From its very first moments, deliver us!
Hatred and the degradation of dignity
Children of God, deliver us!
Deliver us from all kinds of injustice, national and international!
Deliver us from the ease with which we trample on God's commandments!
Deliver us from sins against the Holy Spirit!
Deliver us!
Receive, Mother of Christ, this cry
burdened with the suffering of all men,
burdened with the pain of the whole of society!
What is manifesting itself once again?
in world history
the infinite power of merciful Love!
May this love stop evil!
May it transform consciences!
In your Immaculate Heart,
The light of hope is revealed to all!
Amen
